Definitely not recommended! We had a dedicated server with Yahoo/SimpleNet for far too long and the best word to describe the experience would be "painful"!
Among the list of things they did were:
- Disabling the ability to run private nameservers (without any notice), and in the process taking down sites they forgot to move to their own nameservers.
- Taking down the server after the credit card payment didn't go through, without so much as an email or phone call to notify us or make other arrangements. And on top of all that, there was nothing wrong with the card, it was their payment processing system that caused the problem, and no apology was given
- Their 24x7 tech support is an outright lie. We had hours and in more than one case days of downtime when their support was unavailable and all you could reach was voicemail from their main phone number!
They called about six or eight months after we'd moved on to greener pastures to get updated payment information, not even realizing that the server was no longer active -- utterly clueless! |
